Helper Applications for WWW browsers:

The Real Audio player enables you to hear sound files in real time from the internet. ABC and National Public Radio have content that uses this technology

Apple Computer has created Quick Time Virtual Reality movies that allow you explore both real and imaginary worlds. The movies are small enough to download on the internet. The player is available for free from Apple.

Adobe has developed the Acrobat (PDF) file format to create electronic documents that can be distributed electronically and still retain the orginal format of the file. The Acrobat reader is distributed for free from Adobe. The files can be viewed on screen or printed out. Adobe keeps a good archive of material at their WWW site.
